This is soooooo relatable. 5 countries and counting as well - always thinking of this person or that whom I felt so closely to in a brief period of time, but it's so jarring how quickly they often fade into the background. I feel it makes you realize how much humans depend on one another to survive socially, that connection is often rooted in a very primitive hierarchy need, and that once we're not right in front of someone we naturally as humans struggle to not look to other sources for that need to be met (the connection need).

It is hard to want to go through the process over and over - so true on the farewell parties lol. And yes, the sustained interest too. You often only know these people in a specific sense even if you love them deeply.

"We signed up for this," ughhh it's so true. How do you keep people, etc. Loving this topic.

I hope to meet you in our travels one day :) Come to Colombia - it's where I often head to!
